I recently replaced my front air struts with spring/struts (I know, I know)..Instruction were followed to a T...even disableing the warning system, but the rear bags do not inflate. :Bang I don't think the pump has come on since the conversion. Rear was fine, but has leak a 'lil since and now is all the way down. Anyone have an idea how to get it back up?? I would rather keep the air in the rear at least. Time, rather than money, is more of my issue. Plus my headlights are scaring the owls in the trees at night!! I would appreciate any and all info. I'm new to this forum and it looks like this is the place to go for answers! :Beer

Your air ride system has now been disabled since you replaced the fronts ONLY. The system basically works with 3 ride height sensors, 4 solenoids, a pump(compressor), and various relays...in simple terms.

You removed 2 important links in the chain...it is no longer set up to function the way it used to.

You will either have to fool the air ride computer via wiring, to make it *think* the fronts are still connected, or do what you should have from the get go... replace the whole thing with coils, as opposed to only half of it.

You might want to contact the vendor you purchased your kit from. The instructions they gave you might have been for a 4-wheel conversion, not just fronts only.

Thanks...

Thanks Ice...Yeah, i shoulda did the whole thing at once..but then it was also a time issue. I did fool the pump into thinking I had air in the front to get the pump runnin'. It inflated the rear (not nearly as high as the coils in front) to a level I can live with. I ordered coils for the rear today and hopefully my headaches will be over soon. I love my 8 and plan to return to airride someday when time and money come together. I also had the cooling fan go out the other day. Runs good down the road..but I have to watch it at redlights. Hopefully I can find one soon but this Hurricane has slowed everyone to a halt. Which is easier/better to replace? The motor or the whole assembly. Just thought I would ask. Thanks a million again!!
