Alright guys, i got a 2000 LS8, i do have an Avic D3 Nav that was in my old car, i took it out and now its just sitting in the box, i havn't installed it yet.

1, it wont fit in the LS, too much crap to buy and paint and what ever else i have to do and i have to get it professionally done.

2. I might just sell it and get something that would fit perfectly.

What do you guys suggest i get? An alpine system? Pioneer, please tell me the make and model of the system,

go with the Jvc kd-nx5000. its a single din dvd, nav and cd player. it has a built in 40 gig hard drive. you can also copy your cd's right to the hard drive. its pretty sick. if you want one my company sells them. pm me and ill get you a price. i might be interested in that avic though. let me know.
 
The Avic D3 fits fine. Its a double din, and fits in the LS's double din slot. The easiest mount that looks most stock is to purcchase the 03+ Nav faceplate. You can even order it painted, so all you will have to do is dremel a bit, and install.
 
I rather but it painted... A member in here Gave me the the info at ms concepts they sell it ... Now it doesn't come painted it comes with a spray can with the same color of the 2000 ls interior but getting to the point he bought the spray can that they send him and he said its not a perfect match... So does any other site sell the perfect color frame for the 00 ms interior ?

Question what is dremel? Lol cut theback of the frame so it can fit?
 
The paint from LSK isn't an exact match, but unless you stare at it for about an hour you can't really tell.

getting the nav with my tax return. along with a tv tuner. at least i have it wired to play dvd's while driving!
 
Ah damn, ill keep my Avic and install it, thanks for all the help guys, i'll post pics once the job is done!

Man..these cars are horrific at efficiency. I read where the new 535i (twin turbo I6) gets an average of 34hw, and tested about 28 combined city/highway. 330hp if I recall.
 
finally someone noticed! i've posted this pic numerous times, and was surprised no one commented before.

yeah it's effing cold up here in northern MN. Normally I would only leave the car running for a few minutes before taking off, but i also have a 5 month old son that needs to stay warm, so that few minutes turns into 15 before i'll put him in the car. 15 minutes of warming up + relatively short drives = Bad MPG's.

on the highway, i get about 22-24 mpg with the cruise on.
 
I hear ya. doesnt get as cold as that here in the DC area, but when it did, and when my daughter was a baby, I simply had her bundled up in her snowsuit anyways, and drove off and let the car warm up naturally. She's 11 now and survived fine, and I like to think I made her world a bit better by spewing out fewer pollutants into the ozone by letting the car sit idle for 15 mins. :-)
 
I make up for it by running all the red lights so i don't spit more pollutants into the ozone by letting the car sit idle... ;)
