My LS Has No Balls

I purchased an 03 LS V8 a lil over 2 months ago with 66k. 71k on it now. Car hasn't been able to get an inspection due to emission problems. Dealership to fix. Check engine light has been on. Never flashes. When scanned throws the P0420 code (catalytic converter below threshhold [bank1])

So i'm driving home from work today. I go to change lanes. hit the gas and my car sounds like it has this beastly exhaust. I DO NOT have a custom exhaust.lol RPMs shoot up to about 4500 like it should when it shifts down to 4 but the car did not want to move. It was chuggin along and the car didn't want to accelerate. Doenst matter how fast i'm going, thats what happens. feels like it has no balls what-so-ever. The small car dealership is supposed to be replacing my catalytic converter on wednesday. could that be the only issue? bad cat? misfiring cylinders? Bad coils? maybe a lil bit of everything. What you guys think?

I could be leaving out some info. lemme kno but i think thats about it.

yeah, a bad cat will do this, they are probally clogged, ask to hear what the LS sounds like after they cut them off

I'll be able to get a clip pretty soon of the LS without cats, but with magnaflow mufflers and resonators. :shifty:

Today the issue...went away I suppose.

The problem existed this morning on my way to work. Then on my break I went to go fill up the gas tank. I was at about 1/4. Filled it up with 93octane (as always) drove away and the issues were gone.

Car sounds back to normal. Accelerates great. Shifts great.

Bad gas from the previous fill up?

Clog in the fuel filter maybe?
