Well i scrapped the last trunk security idea i had. Which was a metal bracket that was inserted between the metal pin that is used to turn the lock manually..It just jammed it so no matter what you couldnt open it using the trunk lock. I didnt like the idea of the auto popper possibly breaking thus having to cut a hole in the trunk to fix it..

So i took one of those interiour plastic push pin things and painted it body color and inserted it in/over the trunk lock'

Its 15 degrees out here..I tried cleaning it once it was installed but it froze quicky thus the dull finish.Most noticably on the bottom right corner..But before i did that it was a perfect color match. And will look great once it gets over 30 again

Pretty cool. Do you think it will fool the average scumbag thief? I really like the way it looks without the hole for the lock. Much cleaner. Besides, who uses their key to get into the trunk.

Not sure if it will fool a theif. But it would take alittle bit prying to get it out w/ like a flathead or sumtin. I just want sumtin to cover it that looked like it sorta belonged there. Then my secondary security measure is:

I had my box secured to the rear seat bolts via cable but i hated the fact that everytime i wanted to adjust my amp or work back there i had to take the entire backseat out..pita imho.

While were at it, how hard would it be for a thief to break the inside trunk lock button? I disconnected it in my marquis, but it was only a button on the door w/o a lock on it. And i would like to keep it functional.

Is that the back of your box in the trunk? It really looks good. I would think the average thief would think you had an empty trunk. It looks factory. Great job!

The theives in my area have been caught with battery powered drills... And small sledge hammers...keep it covered, don't play the radio for everyone outside the car, and install a motion detector style alarm, or at least shock sensors.

cables are useless for prevention, bolt the box directly to the car, use large bolts, and large diameter/thickness washers so they can't be pulled thru the sheet metal. This method saved my box from the attemp on my old jeep...and that box was in plain veiw from the rear windows.

Thanks, I guess you could call it a false wall..Sits in front of my box and amp rack thats bolted to the rear seat braces. Took down the rear factory amp tray and have the oem amp on my new amp rack..Subs are faceing upwards through a 30"x12" hole in both the metal rear deck and carpet part w/ a cover on top.. Kinda takes the stealth look away but i wanted some bass to actually get into the cabin area.

Jeeps are like a top target..Well moreso if its a wrangler..
Luckily i live in a very low crime area so i'm not to worried just trying to do the best i can and make it so i can still get back there.

And i make sure not to play it loud in parking lots, mall, movie theaters, stoplights and around my or friends nieghborhoods. At the same time though my car sticks out cuase there arent any where i live.I've seen maybe 10 in 3 years in chicago and the northern subs where i live.
