Mounting Touchscreen in Double-Din Bezel

What's up everyone? This is my first post. Just bought my 2005 LS in January(2008). I am looking to install a carputer (www.mp3car.com is the best web site for info that I've found) so I thought I would join some forums cause I will definitely need lots of tips and tricks. Anyway on to my actual question...

I have seen lots of people install double-din decks using the bezel at LSKoncepts, but has anyone used it to install just a touchscreen LCD? I am wondering what screen to buy that would fit it the best. According to the LSK web site the opening of the bezel is 7 1/8 inches x 4 inches. I found an 8" screen here with viewable area of 6 7/8 inch x 4 1/8 inches. Just a tad too tall!

I don't want to have to go down to a 7", but no other screens I can find have viewable area listed in the specs. Does anyone have any experience with this that might have some tips about what screen fits well?

FYI This is kind of what I want to do, but not quite to that extreme.

Any tips are useful, and yes I did search the forum quite extensively so I don't want to hear it.

First off, Welcome to LVC!

All I can say is wow... very good work that person did to the nissan! I currently have a 7" nav unit and the faceplate from LSK in my LS. It looks great and factory, but it is no carputer.

I am sure someone in the forum should be able to help you out.

That guy turbo is an expert plastic welder. Check out his link in his sig to see how he did the bezel for the Infiniti he's got. If you want to go bigger than what the readily available options are, be ready to try your hand at custom fabrication, or paying for it. I recommend reading his Inifiniti thread to see if it's something you want to tackle.
