mornin peeps. quick rear suspension (bushing) question.

In the painting of the car I've found a bit of rust which has slowed the progress a bit. In the process I'm fixing the back brakes and while doing that I'm now looking at the bushings on what looks to be the back sway bar. I'm pretty sure that is what I'm looking at but let me describe it real quick. The bar goes across the back-end behind the rear axle and bends toward the front of the car (if looking at the brake assembly) in front of the rear spring. There are two bushings that connect it to what appears to be sway bar end links. These are 6 inches long and have bushings on each side. I have a lot of clunking in the back of the car and I suspect it's these bushings.

I have a lowered coil over and I seem to remember that I need to do some modifiying to the new one's. Am I correct on that?

How much of a difference did you notice GMAN after you replaced the stock stuff with the energy suspension components?

The difference is night and day. Being that the other bushings were already 13 years old, these are a definite step up.

I worked at autozone and I was under the impression that anything they sold was junk. Looks like that is one good thing from them.

The Addco sway bars come with updated bushings, they are a solid bar versus hollow on the oem.
Will notice a large difference with one installed.
I dont usually do suspension jobs, but this was fairly easy to do with ramps.

Are you talking about the sway bar end links or the sway bar itself?

Myco, I don't think you want to replace the whole sway bar, just the end link. Get them from Autozone.

Yes, was talking about replacing the rear sway bar, many threads about the improvement in handling.
Shox use to have Addco bars, the T Bird bar is the same # as the Marks and cheaper.

By time you replace all the bushings, might as well replace the whole bar.

Myco, I don't think you want to replace the whole sway bar, just the end link. Get them from Autozone.

Searching around now. My autozone doesn't have it in stock. Should be the 4 1/4'th length. Am I correct? Mine measured out to 3 8/10ths.

For future searchers. The part number is 9.8149r. Those are the end links and the bushings that attach the sway bar to the car is 9.5161r.
