Hey all, I've honestly searched this forum left to right and just couldn't find the answer I'm looking for.

I pulled my moonroof motor and it's in good shape and not stripped out. I aligned the tabs and the moonroof will go back all the way, but sometimes it'll make a rapid clicking sound, which sounds like the motor not engaging with the cable teeth correctly...sometimes it'll pull back one side more than the other.

Today it made more clicking and the moonroof once again doesn't go back all the way...so it seems that the motor isn't engaging all the way with the cable teeth.

Is there an adjustment for the cables or am I screwed?

Im not a professional by any means and i have been proven to be wrong more then once. with that disclaimer. if you aligned everything correctly and you are positive your motor is fine. then what i would is check the track its self the cable is encased in plastic all the way around the track (at least it was on my 2 tracks for a gen 1) you might have broken through and the cable could be looping out Or check the connections they could be jammed up as well. mine would go back a little bit and it was crooked as well but not at all forward. one thing you can do is try cranking the track manually to make sure 100 percent that its not the motor. if you can turn it by hand and make it open and close id suspect the motor first.

I had the same problem, what it is there is a screw cable that the motor screws, If its clicking it needs replaced as its stripped. I could help mine. Not really that hard to replace, Just start looking in the parts section for some one partting a car and ask for the sunroof frame
