So I finally broke down and went down to porky's last night with a few friends in the LS. I can't believe how many cars were there! We def have to get a bunch of LS's together and hangout for a few hours and maybe stay for the racing.

Oh, this happens on University near Porky's in St. Paul round 10pm - 3 AM Friday and Sat nights.

Anyone interested in making a date for a pack of us to go down there?

I haven't been down to the cities in a while. I think Porky's was an option for our last meet. I have to pick up something from KK in hopefully the near future, so maybe then?

That could be fun. A little mini-meet. I think John lives real close around there. We could all show up at his place and have Pete show us how to wash our cars :D

Again? geez...

yeah, that'd be fun. But KK is getting pretty knowledgeable too. He's been picking my brain for like 2 weeks now via texts.

Oh, and Nic, I figured how to apply that wax with an applicator instead of by hand. SO much easier now.

You must've got your front bumper fixed. Did they pay for it?

I feel kinda gay. I'm electronically communicating with you 2 different ways simultaniously :( . But I can't stop....

Yeah got a new bumper and other parts all done. And no they never paid. There is no "proof" that their crap did that to my car. So I made a claim on my insurance, paid my $500 deduct, got a $1400 check, and spent just under $900 on parts and paint. So it all worked out, but them not taking responsibility for this is enough to make me wanna shoot someone.

Haha... I got nothing better to do at work, and text messages get there instantaneously instead of waiting for someone to check their pm's.

Sucks about those guys no owning up to what they did. Should've had the cops show up and fill out an accident report right when it happened. Oh well, live and learn I guess. Did the paint turn out good?

I actually should've taken pictures before I even moved my car, right when it happened. I just started to panic. Never thought I'd see my bumper pulled off my baby. But yeah, live and learn. I'll know next time. There'd better not be a next time!

The paint is good. It's about a 92% match. Slightly lighter, but all in all, a good match. For people like us, it is glaringly obvious, but everyone else says they can't tell. The best part of all this? Besides the $500 or so I made off it, is the plate bracket holes are no longer there! Yes! Brand new bumper and no plate holes. :)

Nice! I may have to remedy that situation on my LS. Just not with a new bumper or a refinish. Probably bondo spot putty and touch up paint, followed by wet sand and polish.

Yeah that would be a good idea. I'm sure you could make it look real nice.

Question for ya concerning the new paint on my bumper. I'm driving 110 miles a day for work, and even after one day the bumper is covered in bugs. Is there a safe product I can spray on daily to get them off? I'm washing my car every week or two weeks at the longest. And when I wash it, it takes quite a bit of scrubbing to get them off because they've been there a week or so. I'm just worried the bugs are going to start wrecking the new paint. Any suggestions?

Yes. put like 4 coats of paint sealant on it. Then wax. This should make the bugs easier to remove. I just use a qd to remove the bugs, but I do it every day. takes just a minute. If you leave them on too long, the bugs breaking down is what causes the pitting in the clearcoat. If you really want, what I've heard works well is wetting a dryer sheet, and laying that over the bugs. It really does work, but you d have to spray them off with a hose, because you don't want fabric softeners on your microfiber.

I say protect it well (with the paint sealant and wax) then just use a quick detail spray every evening to get the bugs off.

It's a synthetic wax. supposed to be more durable than natural carnauba. Wizard's makes a sealant. But if you want....

Send me your address again. but this time I ask for something in return. A trunk light from the bone yard! And if you can find some sill plates for dirt cheap there too. Let me know what they charge you for that stuff.

got it :D

Probably be a couple days before I send it out. You should have it by saturday though.

No problem, that's awesome man! Thanks. Once you get that second trunk light in, you'll wonder why the hell you hadn't thought of that sooner :), I know I did.

you could also meet up with the cvpi guys from crownvic.net and i know theres always some tcstang members down there

TCStang had some cars at proky's, they all had stickers everywhere on their suped up 04 gt's.

Quick going off topic you two... you had me thinking people actually wanted to go when it went from 5 to 16 posts >.>

Nah don't be stupid. No one wants to go out there and hang out you retard! Now let Pete and I continue our conversation here instead of over the phone!!! *owned* :D
