ok here is my problem. 2004 LS V8 - when i turn my car on and i put in in Reverse or Drive it jerks as if its the transmission messing up i hope not. anyways i stop at a light and it shakes (idle - is this the same thing? i dont know much about cars lol) if i accelerate normal slow (soft) it drives fine, if i accelerate hard or give it more gas it starts to shake like it wants to die and wont let me go faster unless i hit the gas really really hard then i jerks and picks up speed until i hit 40- 80 mph on the freeway then it starts to shake and jerk again. I went to a shop and they did my diagnostic for free and they said that it came up with a missfire- didnt tell me where it was or what code, just that it would cost $130 to just see what was wrong. so i went to auto zone and they told me to check the spark plugs and coils. I checked the coils and spark plug with this cheap tool that inserts a female end to the spark plug in the motor and the male end you stick it to the coil (boot). supposedly if these worked a light will blink on the tester consistently,it did for all 8. so went to autozone again and took the spark plugs to see if they looked bad enough to change them and they said they didnt exept that they were NGK and preferably i should use motorcross i think? whatever, so then i bought them. i then installed them and still does the same. my dad tells me to check the fuel filter, transmission fluid and coil pack ( i checked to coils and boots for tear and wear and if it had fluids but no sign) but i didnt check the coil pack, how can i check? im guessing the cheap spark plug tester is full of crap and I need HELP please!!!

Stop posting new threads about the same damn thing. Your previous thread is like 4 down from this

The more threads on the same thing does not mean a quicker answer it just means more flack from people who don't like noobs asking the same questions. This is the answer.......Change the coils.......all of them, the most common problem in these cars are coils. Go do it now and your problem will go away.
