So I got this car back in June, and it's still under factory warranty. The inner part of the chrome rims are peeling. A month ago I noticed some minor bubbling on the trunklid. I took it to the dealer yesterday. Ford refused to fix the paint or replace the rims either. WTF is this?

Refuse their refusal. TELL them they are fixing it because it's defective, and ask when they would like to perform the work.

Good luck with that.

Anything like that is considered wear and tear after 12 months.

Yes, luck might be needed. But it's worth a try.

Did you buy the vehicle from this dealer?

If its the powertrain warranty your SOL and they have that right.

for gods sake my moms 1990 ford taurus just STARTED to develop minor rust this past spring. By minor I mean a 5 mm bubble and some tiny spots on the trunk edge. this is ridiculous on a 2005 luxury car that intended to compete with europes finest. Ill take it to another dealer.

Take it to the dealer you purchased it from. Talk to the salesman who did the deal for you. More than likely they will be the most help.

That's been my experience anyways. I've used the same person ever since I've had a car that I needed to buy on credit. He is always willing to work with me, because he knows if he keeps me happy, I will keep buying cars from him. I'm not a dick when I explain what I want, but do sternly state my wishes. Most times, they can work with you on a suitable solution.
