Just today for the first time i finally had a no start.

I dont have a cel and battery looks to be good. The eyelet is green and im getting a reading of 13.9-14.0 from my scanguage.

I tried to crank 3 times and no start. left it alone jumped it and still no start after two more tries. then finally after about 10 minutes of sitting i tried and it fired up right away.

Does this sound like a clogged fuel filter? Car has aprrox 67K miles and i recently just changed out plugs about 1000 miles ago. coils have not been changed but i dont feel like they are misfiring.

And i can go outside and it starts up fine, have tried multiple times since i came back home and no issue.

When it wouldn't start, did the starter turn the crankshaft over like normal or was it silent?

My 04 has failed to engage the starter about three times since I've had it. Each time it was due to the PATS not correctly reading the key, and each time it worked on the second attempt. I have three transponder keys on one ring, so that may be why.

Everything sounded normal the engine just wouldint kick on.

I only have one key right now. Have a second key and fob which i need to get programmed. I think i may hold off on the battery but go ahead and replace the fuel filter since the manual recommends it be done at 60K.

And my idle is around 700rpm.

It's not a bad idea to change the fuel filter (you wouldn't believe how dirty they get), but it's not going to be the cause of a not start and then later run okay.

You'll probably have to wait for it to not start again. I'd first try wiggling the PCM relay and fuel pump relay. Also, take note of the PATS light when it is not starting.

Alright....i just dont want to be left stranded.

And now im starting to have a rough idle upon start up.

shut the vehicle off and wait start it up and the rough idle goes away.
