the button area screen above it is chipped or cracked, not sure how thehell he did it. maybe the heat? well anyway can you change out this without changing out the whole thing and if so how do you do it?

heres some pics of damage . the center console i need just parts of it the cupholder and lid are in good shape just need ashtray and sides

Yes.. if you can find a good one. Pull the whole unit up, unplug it, and you will find screws holding everything together. The piece you need to replace is held on with weak adhesive.. easily pried loose.

If I remember right that "film" pops right out. Of course keyboard assemblies are cheap too. It is easy to pop out.

There will be 2 tabs on the front so just use a flathead and gently pry up. Iirc there will be 1 on either side that will also pop up n' out.
