I dunno our traction control seems to help a bit.

Yeah sometimes those 4wd trucks have too much low end torque and all they do is spin.

really?

Mine helps but then again i have a gen II so it might be different.

I have a GenII also but I have to agree with Fast on this one.

Back in the day I used roll down hills with TC on. Now that I know the car better I turn TC off and i can make it up the hills, struggling, but still make it up instead of just sliding back down

Well it helps me not swerve from side to side sometimes but no so much in a straight line.

I usually ride with it off though so i can pull away from stop signs quicker.

Nice thread hijack !:D
Actually I'm glad this came up. I've always laughed when friends of mine with 4 wd gave me a hard time about my RWD. Personally I think the LS is the best , funnest car to drive in snowy bad weather. I have the SST in my 06 and I haven't had a problem with hills. Knowing that if I turn off TC in my 00 would have saved me several close calls. There's a few big hills in each direction from my house. It wasn't fun to be sideways across both lanes when another car comes over the hill before I could roll my way back downhill . At that point I would gun it enough to make it up. When my parents first moved out here my mom had an 84 camaro Z24. One winter she had to have the guys at the Feed store push her up the hill. She couldn't make it even halfway up !

Tell me about it. This girl I know just asked me if I could change her thermostat and timing belt for her. To even get to the timing belt you have to take the entire front end off of the car. I was like yeah uhhh I'm not even going to attempt that.

not if you know how to take care of it and know what youre doing, and even less if you buy from a respectable enthusiast.

No they really are.

You can take care of it just like we baby our LS but the parts and everything are more expensive. Same as bmw and benz.

I looked at the audi a4 for awhile until i did some more research.

I was going to get an A4 too back in the day..

About taking the front clip off, at a dealer it would cost close to 1300 for that repair.. And that is general repair..

i know bro...im a long time vw/audi enthusiast. I owned a nice vr6 i modded myself, and i spend the same amount of time on VWvortex learning about these cars as i do here, and i know a thing or two about bmw's too as i used to have one.
