For all of you conservatives, I want to know how you justify attacking Ron Paul for merely not returning campaign money received from a member of a neonazi group, but say nothing when John McCain actively pursues support from a group that is just as racist and potentially even more destructive to this country due to the Aztlan movement.

On a side note, I'd like to use an analogy for those of you who say, "What about SCOTUS? What about Iraq? Isn't McCain better than Hillbama?" This kind of talk reminds me of battered wife syndrome, where the abused spouse makes excuses for continually coming back to her abusive husband. “Being alone would be worse.” - “What about the kids?” - “At least he brings home a paycheck.”

I see no difference here. McCain hates conservatives and Christians, and he's clearly and deliberately pandering to the enemies of this country while kicking his base in the teeth, because he KNOWS that you all will be forced to vote for him or face the alternative.

After you smoke a joint? :D

The more I hear about the Presidential Race the more disheartened I get. I almost wonder if there is a lesser of "3" Evils?

Too bad the RNC squeezed out Ron Paul, because he would have made your dreams come true. I don't smoke weed, but I support your right to do so!

Trust me, its decriminalization you want, not legalization.

No excuse.

Only ugly political explanations or rationalizations, and even that won't cut it.

Washington types feel their future in politics lies in the hands of the growing "Hispanic" vote. The term hispanic is ridiculous, since it damn near includes everybody. South Americans, Europeans, Central Americans, Islanders- and then every successive generation they have indefinitely. It's no wonder it's the fastest demographic, because it includes virtually everyone.

George W. Bush's nieces and nephews are considered Hispanic.

McCain is making a major mistake if he courts those radicals. He's not going to win this election unless he can carry the reluctant base. There are plenty of patriotic Hispanic organizations that he can pander to.

UNLESS- he speaks in candid, pro-America, pro-border terms to that audience.
If he goes and pisses them off, then it's o.k. But this would be in stark contrast to his past statements, and the past speeches he's made for La Raza.

And while I'm dreaming, maybe he'll fire or disassociate from that Juan Hernandez skunk.

All right, so we're stuck with either McCain or B. Hussein Obama as President for at least 4 years.

What I want to know is how do we conservatives get ourselves out of this mess?

HOPE. Hope that McCain picks a more conservative VP(not likely) then kicks the bucket(pretty likely) before he does too much damage.

Ron

He'll probably pick Lieberman just so he can show he's the Maverick to the media and hopefully get their loooooove back.

Elect McCain because he does embrace SOME important conservative principles.
If the left controls the court, they will reinvent the constitution and all will be lost.

But we conservatives have lost our political momentum, and it just might take a perceived moderate like McCain to win the office and swing things back in our direction....

Please explain to me how this is not a non sequitur, because it sounds like one.

The general public is browned off at the conservatives, tired of funny face Mission Accomplished speech mangler GW.
McCain running as a moderate may bring in enough votes to win the election.
From there it depends on the success of his policies and leadership.

If things go well or at least not bad then more voters will be inclinded to reconsider the conservatives, thinking "Hey these guys are doing a good job"

Explain to me how it is a non sequitur?

A strong conservative would have a very difficult time becoming elected. The public is swinging back towards the center while the GOP and conservatives in general have seemed to stop persuading, debating, teaching, and making their argument. The media and left to define them have been allowed to define them.

If there's some bold organization on the part of Congressional candidates, coupled with McCain picking up the center vote, we can begin to correct course. McCain is "good enough" on most important issues- not all- but most.

But an Obama win, with Democrats increasing control of Congress, and then Obama leftist judicial nominees at all levels of the federal courts will be disasterous for a generation.

One liberal term can undo everything done by a previous conservative or center-right administration. But it takes generations to roll back the damage of a liberal administration.

We're still trying to repair the damage of FDR and LBJ to this day.
