Alot of you guys know that i've been looking at several newer cars, mainly Manual V-8's. Today i was doing my laundry and i just thought to myself, maybe i should just dump some money into my Daily Driver, my 1996 LSC (with non-lsc front bumper and headlights-accident/previous owner lol).

What the car needs...........

-front rotors, the steering wheel shaking at 70mph when braking is HORRIBLE..

-steering is VERY LOOSE, the steering wheel travels 2-3 inches each side before the wheels turn, this is due to me being lazy and not fixing the rotors. i'm guessing i'll need all new bushings.

-coil spring conversion.....the backend drops to the floor after 4 hours of sittings there.

Besides that, oh yeah and my smashed drivers side blinker/indicator light, the mofo is TIP TOP!!! It only has 68K miles and the transmission doesn't slip at all. I was thinking about getting a bra for the front bumper to cover up the non-LSC fake metal bumper strip, and get some pearl white touch up paint for the rear bumper so i can touch up some minor dings.

4.10 gears............a must. I'm sick of the stock 3.27's and how the car goes nowhere until 4000 RPM's.

Sound system.....this would be alot of fun. I used to install systems for friends about 7 years ago. American cars always sounded the best, this Lincoln would be a prime candidate for a good system.

Do not get a bra, period.

And yeah, the $14k you were gonna spend on a GTO into your Mark... forged internals, KB, TR6060... do it

I would keep it, and build it up. Pick up a new daily while you work on the Mark. Hell, you can find Mark VII's pretty cheap, and with the 5.0 they move decently. Or if you want a manual, pick up a 5.0 stang, or turbo coupe. You will have a fun daily while you build your VIII.

I've seen some great deals on used parts lately because of the economy. There was a used forged short block with very low miles for sale for $900 using a Mark VIII block that just recently sold. It has me wanting to sell a few of my spare guns to fund and engine build.
Don't forget a good converter to go with your rear build. My parts shopping from my other thread should be done mid month and before uncle Sam gets the $1200 I owe him.
