I have a 1998 Mark VIII, 5.4 L DOHV engine in a 1954 Ford Victoria. The Mark VIIIs did not have a tach and I want to add one to the installation in the 1954 Ford conversion. There is no tach feed wire coming from the Mark VII original PCM being used. This PLC is likely used in other cars with similar engine/transmission setups, some of which had tachometers. It has 104 pins, of which 78 are used in the 98 Mark VIII setup. Someone smarter than me, advised that he had info indicating that pin 48 would be for a tach signal in an installation with a tach. So, I got a wire and pin into position 48. That didn't give me a signal. Where do I go from here ?
