I want to put on a pair of Magnaflow mufflers only, on my 02 V8. My local dealer says he would sell me a pair of #14325 and installation for $450.00 Canadian. Sounds a little pricy as I have seen them on ebay for $87.00 US. Has anyone that has installed just a pair of mufflers liked the improved sound ? and did it have any adverse effect on the car's performance. The dealer said there would be low cabin noise with these. I'm looking for a slight throaty sound only. I don't want to hear a rumble all the time as I drive especially on the highway. Any comments, thanks.

It's not that loud. My wife hates loud exhaust and she loves the way mine sounds. It will be quieter than a stock Mustang GT. Just a little rumble, not over the top. Not loud enough in my opinion!

Osain, thanks for the reply. did you install them yourself or did your local muffler shop do it. Also did you buy #14325 mufflers? I'm asking because I could install them myself and save a couple hundred bucks but I don't know how to replace the metal hanger that is welded to the exhaust tip of the oem which connects up to the rubber hanger bracket. The new muffler does not come with that pre welded hanger.

That Magnaflow part number #14325 is a 2.25" The stock exhaust where it hooks into the mufflers is 1 7/8", you more than likely wont be able to do this yourself. The pipe that comes into the stock muffler goes in at a weird angle too so you would need someone to custom bend some pipes to connect the stock pipe to the new muffler. And also the size difference would need that pipe to have different size ends as well to join the pipes.

The hanger is the least of your worries, most auto parts stores have hangers that clamp around the exhaust outlet so you can hang it and adjust it.

I would think the whole Magnaflow kit wouldn't be much more than what they are charging you. Then you would get the total benefit of the exhaust system too. And, you could bolt it on yourself and save the installation charges.

thanks for the responses. I will consider both options and let you know what I decide to do.
