"Magnaflow High-Flow" Catalytic Converters & Related Items Help

i going try other places then. I just thought that if anyone could/would do it, it would be meineke.

I am taking it to Midas, I also know the owner quite well so he is more willing to work with my car than say a standard job of cut and re-weld.

Good lead

found a place that would do it "no problem," but since the cats i bought are straight, and the OEM cat is at a bend, they will have to put it slightly higher, so they couldn't "guarantee" that i wouldnt get any O2 sensor codes due to the slight change in placement.

Do you guys think i'll have issues there? i mean i'm not the first to use universal cats am I?

I could be wrong but I would not want my engine possibly running lean and not get a code on it.

i think you misunderstood. The guy said some cars are picky and that i could potentially get codes because of the slight change in placement of the cat.

From my understanding, it technically wouldnt matter.

O2 sensors measure the amount of oxygen in the exhaust, relative to engine speed, etc.

They shouldnt be affected by exhaust gas flow differences.

The cats need to be close to the manifolds though, as the catalyst works best when hot.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I bought 2.25in cats because I was told you couldn't fit a 2 to 2.5in expander in there, in the end my cats ended up getting moved to after the bend (like most cars anyway).. hasn't thrown any codes with the thuderbolt high flow cats in their new location. All the pipes after that are 2.5.

I wouldint see why there would be any codes unless they arent properly welded.
