My son has a 2001 LS8 that apparently threw a rod. engine locked up, lots of metal debris in oil pan. we have a short block but are having a hard time finding gaskets. well, actually they are easy to find from Ford, but high dollar. we need a source for a head gasket set and possibly other parts and gaskets. is Ford the only option we have?

max at five star ford. Tell him you're an LVC member for a discount.

(see link on right side of page)

Bill Jenkins from Team Ford can help too, though I've not personally bought from him.

I'd check RockAuto.com. I just bought all new suspension stuff for my Tahoe through them. Shipping is always fast and I always get the right part.

Here's a 5% off code for ya, should you go through them -

Thank you for being a www.RockAuto.com customer! To show our appreciation, we have a special discount for you.

Your discount code is:

13293781144082

Here's how to use it:

* Enter your code in the "How did you hear about us" line of the shopping cart.
* If you are using our traditional HTML catalog, please click the "Set" button to the right of the field.
* Your discount will automatically appear, subtracted from your order total.

**NOTE: We sometimes get calls from people who put the word "discount" in front of their code and do not get the discount. Please enter ONLY the discount code, no other words or numbers.**

The discount takes 5% off our already-low prices, and there's no limit on order size or the number of orders. Use the code for your next order, and share the code with friends, neighbors, relatives, the guy at the corner garage--anyone you know who works on cars or trucks.

This discount code expires on February 15, 2009; so don't wait!

i wasnt able to find much for this engine at rock auto. maybe im doing something wrong ?

If there was serious serious failure I wold make sure to inspect the heads very well to make sure nothing made its way up there and messed them up.

OEM is the way imo...

Give them a call if you don't see it online. Past that....call Max.
