Ok...last year I raced this kids 1998 Cadillac STS with nothing but a gutted stock air box. I beat him the first time up to about 60 mph but he pulled on my the second time, overall it was a pretty even race. At that time I had nothing but by KKM filter.

Last night I raced the same Cadillac with my new exhaust and the XCal2 and he beat me twice, and pretty bad. I checked the guys engine and he had no noticeable mods other than the filter. I don't think he was chipped or anything like that. If the exhaust/xcal was supposed to give me at least say 20+hp combined with my filter shouldn't I have beaten this guy bein that we were neck and neck the year before without my mods?

Maybe his car wasn't running well before and now it's running fine, that's why he beat you..

I think the STS is faster than the 00-02 LS off the line, I don't know about the rest.

wow...man thats not cool. Did you have any added weight in the car? I'm going to have to remember this...I'm thinking you having the bad luck with the flasher is making me stay away from it. Maybe he lightened his load?? Did you have a clean filter? Oil changed? tires inflated good?

hmm with thoes mods u should defenetly beat him... is ur car faster with the mods or not? if u feel ur car is alot faster then it used to be then his got some nitrous or something... and i think STS should be faster then LS stock for stock

that sucks. are you sure he didn`t have a bottle hidden somewhere? i know the northstars are some great engines because my wife has a 00 deville and it gets up for a 4000lb car. i actually think its faster than my lsv8 with a kkm filter but we have yet to race ( wife keeps gettin scred and letting off the gas ) .but i really doubt the deville would be able to beat the ls if i had and exaust and xcal tune. the sts is a lil bit lighter i think with the same engine but either he snuck something in that u didn't notice, or there is something wrong with u`r tune. did u`r car feel any slower though?

I'm pretty sure this guy had no hidden mods....it took me about 30 minutes to convince him to race me being that we were even the year before and now I have exhaust and the xcal. I just don't know what happened. The shift points are a LOT harder but that is it in terms of "feeling" the difference. I need to get this bitch to a dyno....

I cleaned my KKM filter right before but did not use a "percision applicator" or a scale. I simply gave it two even coats of oil. I was running 92 octane with octane booster, 1/4 tank of gas, no people in car, and I staged my launch from about 2500 rpms each time....

what was the outside temp? When I had my 02 it would get EXTREMELY heat soaked and lose tons of power. I was once smoked by a V6 Toyota Highlander SUV. These cars run great when cold, but are dogs once they get hot.
