LS V8 vs 05 STS V6

Has anyone compared the two? I'm thinking about getting the STS but don't really want to pay the V8 price unless someone convinces me that it's that great.

I didnt think so either but just confimed it on the Cadillac website. I thought all STS's were Northstars, interesting....

the northstars kick ass, i havnt driven a new one though, i have a 2000 STS and love it. u should test drive one with a 6 and one with an 8 and compare the two. you get a good power boost with the 8, i think its 320 HP as compared to 260 with the 6, dont rightly remember though

Go with the v8. the v6 should push it pretty well, but i think if you did get the v6 you would probably wish you had gotta the v8. i was actually looking at those when i bought my wifes 07 avalon. decided on the avalon because of the features and power for the price (avalon v6 was faster then the stsV8). great car though. you just have to pay a good amount to get the features,unless you buy used. it is rear wheel drive which is great. check the '06 models also they go for about the same price as the '05`s. good luck.

V8 LS vs. V6 CTS

Just to give my .02 about Lincolns and Cadillacs...

My sister just bought a CTS and it is a smooth, quite ride but power wise my LS has a lot more to play with. Sure, you could beat the 6 and just go pedal to the floor but if speed and acceleration is your main concern, you might as well take the LS.

Given that the CTS gets better gas mileage plus it doesn't need premium gas (3.6L, only I believe), I would say you have some pretty good differences to compare between the two cars.

I dont know how helpful that is but from what I saw of the STS at the dealer, I wouldnt blame you if you went for the Caddy .

i had a 00 deville before we got the avalon and that northstar engine with 45 more hp would be alot of fun to have if you need it. i still like my ls though but the finish on the sts is alot better . just test drive them both.

The 2008 STS comes with a 298hp V-6.

Lincoln's forthcoming MKS better come with something meaty!

I have driven the new STS with V6, it pulls really hard compared to my V6 LS, pulls like the 00-02 V8 LS. But, it's kind of noisy. I would go for V8.
