This thread is only for LS V6 owners only.

AS the topic says, what are your miles per gallon average? what year? what gen? what mods have you done to improve better fuel mileage.
Thanks.

MPG =
YEAR =
GEN 1 or 2 =
MODS =

'05 LS V6. I've only checked it on 3 tanks. 20.5 MPG on the first two, a little under 20 on the last one. No mods yet....

03 LS6, No Mods, I got 27MPG while driving from detroit to DC @ 70MPH and last i checked I got about 23 MPG driving around DC. I use only Premium and an additive about every three months.

04 LS6 here. 80k on the clock, stock wheels
I've run both the stock intake and the KKM. No significant changes.
I get between 19 and 21 everyday driving. Highway goes 22-24
Best tank was 26.4

Where did u get the KKM Intake from? How Much?

YEAR = 2004
MPG = city 19's, city/hwy = 21's and hwy only = 24's
GEN 1 or 2 = Gen 1
MODS = K&N filter panel, synthetic oil, Red Line Radiator cooler, Tornado Fuel Adapter. Everything else stock.

Future mods: New fuel filter, New Denso Iridium Spark Plugs, New O2 Sensors, KKM intake w/ custom enclosed box, and cat back exhaust. With all of these I should be getting 2+ miles per gallon increase.

Other future mods, weight reduction, my cat back piping will be titanium custom made, also the rest of steel replacement hardware parts found around my car. Carbon fiber will be most of my interior. Only the front lip on the outside will be made of that, and maybe the side view mirrors... oh well to much to tell...

I see in your mods, u are getting 19's I am willing to sell u my 20's if u are interested, I just got one welded because I cracked it and the other three are fine except for curbing everyone in a while, I have Nitto Neo Gen tires that i bought in April. If u are interested Pm me, i should have the repaired rim back this week.

I do a combo of city/hwy and get about 17.5 mpg and just hwy have gotten about 25 mpg. I think it has to do with my driving style and the bigger tires. I have tried to mellow it out and have gotten better, but never over 20 mpg. Might be better after tomorrow, I get my car back from the Ford dealer. They were replacing 1 bad coil and found a second one that was bad. So that might help with mpg. That will make 3 fresh coils.

gen 1 116k no mods just a full tune up highway 23mpg

I am going to leave on the stock air filter setup for now and see if the mpg is better or worse when I switch back to the KKM setup. I figure about 2 tanks each run. I do notice the exhuast more now, than when I had the KKM on.

Are those coils bad from valve covers leaking oil or just bad coils? I thought by '05 they had the coil issues solved.

The 2nd gen corrected the valve cover/oil leak that lead to coil failure. Coils will still fail due to heat and age.

2 bad coils this time, the paper work for the service performed show that coil #3 was replaced again. I talked to the service rep who took my car and he talked to the tech and it was bad. So it looks like I still have 4 coils waiting to go bad. #3 coil only had about 5k miles on it. They replace number 1 and 3 cyl coil, valve cover gasket for the left side and a heater valve, not the DCCV. Everything seems good right now. The trany is learning all over again how I drive.

I decided to go from 18's to light weight 19's BBS LM or CH wheels or OZ Superleggera wheels.

LM

CH

OZ Superleggera

I vote for the CH then the OZ, I don't care to much for the LM.
