LS trade in

Hey everyone i'm new to the site but an avid lincoln fan, my first car was a 1994 lincoln towncar and i loved it I now have an f150 that I am looking to trade in for a 2000 LS v6 5spd with around 73k miles are there any problems that i should look out for before making the trade? thanks for the help

Well it is at running at about the mileage where the pcv tube breaks down and collapses on itself.

Coils could potentially be a problem. I guess the proper thing to ask is are you handy under the hood. You will either love this car or hate it with a passion.

I am on LS number 2 hated to love my last one and love to love this one... so far!

well I know the pcv valve on my f150 was no big deal and the same for my friends mazda is it a big deal to replace on this car? Also by coils do you mean a/c or suspension? I'm decent under the hood but wouldn't normally catch something unless it was begging to be noticed or if I knew what to look for, so I'm just trying to find what to look for, Thanks for the help

Well the pcv is located beneath the lower intake and requires a few hours of disassy to get to it but it is all wrench turn time and does require much more than a strong lower back. A dealer would charge about 800 dollars to replace 50cents worth of tube.

The coils I am referring to are the ignition coils. Each spark plug has its own ignition coil which cost approx 50 dollars each. A dealer wouold charge about 1200 dollars to do the coils and that might only include 2 maybe 3 COPs if they were feeling generous.

Is this the 5spd auto or manual transmission. If it is the auto then you are potentially in for a whole slew of money burning issues.

Honestly id pass up the V6 and see if you can find a V8. More power, but the same fuel economy. And you don't have to worry about that stupid PCV tube. Just the coils and valve cover gaskets, and all the other stupid little traits that make the LS an LS.
