Hello Everyone,

I just purchased a 2000 Lincoln LS (black on black) with a broken timing chain. I plan on restoring this LS to near show room condition. It has been sitting for 18 months and has 120,000 miles on it. I will post pictures and document the progress that I make on the vehicle.

I have worked for Ford for 5 years and have owned my personal shop for around 10 called (Battle Ground Racing) BGR. The problem is that no Lincoln Ls's ever came to the Ford dealer, so this is all new terrain for me and I will need your assistance.

Welcome to the forums and good luck with the LS. Is it a 6 or 8? You'll find a decent amount of helpful info here.

edit: Just read your other thread, looks like you got the 8, a lot of work ahead of you!

I am starting with these wheels. These 16's have to go.

Welcome!
There are a bunch of people on here who can help with any questions you may have. If you want a cool wheel that still is somewhat stock looking check out the Jaguar S Type rims. A couple of guys on here have S type "R" wheels from the performance line and they are staggared and look great!!

Thank you guys for the warm welcome. Well I am terrible at posting pictures in the forum by I did figure out how to photobucket. Please check out the link below. My first question is that I am trying to swap out the center console for some actually useful cup holders. Does anyone know what the wire is in the center console? I am thinking it is part of some kind of aftermarket satelite radio or phone, but want to be sure before i cut the cord.

I really like the 18" Vulcan wheels in chrome... but until it is running well I will be putting some factory chrome 17's on.

If that's inside the console my bet is a phone. It was an option in 2000.

It is inside the console. I will go ahead and get rid if it. What worried me is that it looked original and the console piece was actually made for the jack. If it was an option in 2000, that explains it. Many thanks...

manual

I need to purchase some kind of haynes manual for this car. Any recomendations?

best bet would to buy a manual on CD.. They come up probably more than the actual paper manuals do.

Just swapped out the wheels, center console and radio. I updated the pictures. The center console is about a 5 min swap. Very easy and you really dont even need any tools accept for the traction control switch.

I am going to have to get some bigger tires for the 17's. They are just to small.

I am about ready to takle under the hood once I get a manual. Looking underneath the hood, I am praying that I do not have to pull this thing. It is as tight as a high school girl on prom night. Let me know if there are any aftermarket parts I need to purchase while I am in there. Many thanks...

BTW- this will be a nitrous car......
