well i did a lot of searching and i found an rca to iphone dock connector cable that is compatible with the iphone. a link for it can be found here: http://www.installer.com/item/display_item.php?it=AIP-RCA

my only issue is, on certain songs, not all of them, i have distortion. i will hear a crackling in the background. i have to mess with the treble levels to get it to fade away. now this is hooked up with a factory 2003 lincoln ls stereo system. any ideas on why i am get a crackling in the background? this has been driving me nuts for weeks.

my sirius sounds fine, regular radio sounds great as well as CDs, just when i play on my iPhone do i hear this.

Dollars to donuts it's the phone part of the iPhone transmitting/receiving to/from the cellular network. You can put the iPhone in flight mode, which will turn off the cell phone functionality; short of that, there's not a lot you can do about this problem. Supposedly, the dock for the iPhone can deal with this, but I think it just prompts the iPhone to ask you if it can go into flight mode.

If you've ever been in lecture/music hall, or any other room with mics and sound reinforcement in the last few years, the chances are good that you've heard the sound coming over the sound system--it happens when a phone gets too close to a mic. (They have, within the last year or so, come out with RF-shielded mics, but they're not in terribly wide use yet.)

FWIW, it's not unique to the iPhone; it's endemic to AT&T, T-Mobile, and Nextel (but not Sprint; see the link below) phones. If I leave my Cingular 8525 on the center console near the hookup for my iPod, I'll get it through my stereo, too. Heck, my 8525 has even interfered with itself--I've heard the noise through the speaker while I was in a call! Also, you don't have to be in or receiving a call; it happens when your phone is communicating with the network--mine does it all the time because I use Microsoft DirectPush to keep my 8525 sync'd with the Exchange server at work.

another thing could be the quality of the songs. i have noticed lately after i put a bunch of songs on my micro SD to go in my cingular 8125, when it comes time to play those songs it will be very poor quality. same thing goes with burning a cd-r, randomly one or two or three songs will have such poor quality i can't bear to listen to them. just a thought. seems not to happen with songs i actually buy from either iTunes or if i purchase the entire cd.

I agree with EAST.. I have same issue.

When I burn it of Limewire the song quality isnt that great, I have even burned a song that at the end you hear the DJ goin to commercial,,lol

I have been in my car with a burned song, and then in a friends car with same song off the actual CD and it doesnt even sound like same song..

You can also get the IPOD hookups here http://pie.net/

its not the signal. cause i've put it into airplane mode and i still get the static. i think it may be just the songs somehow. i gotta look into the bitrate maybe that has something to do with them.
