I'm looking for headlight upgrade options for my '02 LSE. Of course I'd love to put on the full HID conversion but unfortunately my budget would not allow for that.

I want something that wont void my warranty, but still give a custom look to stand out a bit more. I've heard of replacing the stock bulbs with 100w bulbs, but I've also heard that this extremely taxes the electrical system. However, this would probably be the most economical option for a college student on a budget. Spending $100 on three pairs of replacement bulbs is much cheaper than a $600 HID conversion. What do y'all think?

$600 for HID conversion??? people like the hoen's that ken sells if you don't want to convert. i'd stay away from all the high wattage junk out there. better yet just save your money. if you're a college student on a budget you're gonna need all the money you can get for repairs;-)

The Hoens Ken has at LS Koncepts are probably the brightest you'll find without frying your wiring. You can also take a look on Ebay, there are plenty there as well.

considering they are standard wattage i don't see how they could.

Will the Hoen's void my factory or extended warranty?
Putting in bulbs will not void a warranty. However, if you are concerned about that I would recommend sticking the Hoen Xenonmatch bulbs since they are closer to the OEM wattages. The Hoen Xenonmatch Plus bulbs operate at a higer wattage and require a heavy duty connector. You basically cut the original connector off and splice the new heavy duty connector on.

check with your state as well.

I'm in NJ and they are absolutely insane about bulb colors. Also they will not allow HID conversions here.

I run the Hoens since they are not Blue and objectionable.

Actually, HID Conversion Kits are illegal everywhere but may not be enforced in all states as strict as others. Unless you have headlights marked such for HID's then they are illegal. However, I have been running my 4300K Xetronic HID Conversion Kit for well over a year with no issues. I live in Tennessee so it could be a little more laxed than other states.

I've been running 8k's with no problem in NYC and VA for almost a year. no problems. I think if u stay below 8k you should have no problems anything above that is just obnoxious and will atrract attention.
