Low pressure in transmission

buddy of mine states that he took his LS to garage and they stated that he as low pressure in the tranny.. what does that mean and can he still drive it that way? or can that mean that he needs to add fluid to the tranny?? the garage is a local oil changing place and not a GARAGE! lol but they did wait for the right pressure setting from the Ford place. and did state that they couldn't do any work on the tranny....
 
Was he having problems with it? How can this oil changing place know what they're talking about if they can't fix it? If he's got tranny problems, have him take it to a dealership or at least a tranny shop for diagnosis.
 
Thats what i said ! he is taking it to a dealership....E came up when he went to take it to get the oil changed..
 
My guess is they read a trouble code. When was the pressure low? What gear? Line pressure? There are numerous things that come to mind here. These trannys aren't something for the untrained to fool around with. Your buddy is doing the right thing by taking it to a qualified tech.
