I changed my oil today and now I'm getting the low oil warning. The showed me the dipstick, it was where it should be. Is there a way to reset this

Are you getting the red light on the dash or the message center or both?

the red light is low oil pressure rather than low oil level.

it just needed to float back up. after I change my oil I expect it to say that. And like you said it goes away.:D

Say what? It floats like a quarter inch at most. Its not a level reader, its a switch that if the oil is below it it activates. Its not like a fuel tank reading with a full range arm.

Its not normal and should not be "expected" after an oil change.

Came back from the gym everything is ok weird guess it just needed to settle or something

that does seem to fix it once you drive around. That started happening to me last year. One place where I got the oil changed they only put in 5qt not 6. So they change the oil then turn the car on then off. They tried to rip me off saying my sensor was bad they thought I knew nothing about cars.
