Low brake fluid warning light won't turn off after reset

My low brake fluid warning light is intermittently coming on, and staying on for different periods of time. I have checked the level and it is full. Is this a sensor issue or cpu issue? It is driving me nuts, and I need to get it inspected. Can I disconnect the battery to reset the cpu? If anyone can offer a suggetion I would appreciate it!!

I forgot to mention the car is a 2001 Lincoln LS V-8 sport with traction control. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
