Looking to pick up a gen 2 Mark VIII. I have always loved the LSCs.....
Found 2 different cars im looking at. Both Grey.
98 LSC, 44K miles, No Moonroof, tan interior - asking $5999
97 Base, 69K miles, Moonroof, black interior - Asking $4900
I would prefer the 98 LSC BUT i really want a moonroof. The LSC is also 1200 miles away from me, BUT 2 hrs from my parents who are driving up to see me anyways. My dad could look at it, buy it, and drive it to me.
The 97 Base is local to me. I also prefer the black interior.
I know the 98 had a better tranny but i think the only thing updated was the 1-2 and 2-3 shift actuators, which i can update no problem along with the JMod.
I know the LSC also has true dual exhaust but only 2.25"... I could get 2.5" bent up for the base.
I also prefer the painted LSC grill and headlight bezels, but like the chrome around the Base tail lights.... so I could paint the Base grill body color.
And last, the LSC has lower gears, but shouldnt the Base get slightly better gas mileage?
