New here, nice forum! Hoping this is the right section..Got an issue with my LS.

Have an 02, just started overheating. Had the oil changed recently, theres no smoke, coolant/oil leak or any coolant mixing in. The oil light came on with the check engine light. Havent had it read yet but Im assuming this is purely the oil pump crapping out since the oil light came on. Can anyone vouch for this?

The level is fine, cap on and its the right filter. Filled it with synthetic. What else could cause the oil light to come on besides the pump if its overheating in 15mins flat?

Thanks for any help guys. Looking forward to doing some exterior mods.

The check engine light is unrelated to the low/no oil pressure situation. You have multiple problems and at your experience level, it is unlikely that they can be solved over the internet before your engine is destroyed.

Just trying to get insight before I take it anywhere. Ive done plenty of work on my mustang and would prefer to figure this one out:/ I dont use the car much at all so its no rush. I'll see what the code is.

I would run codes first. Then I would put a mechanical oil pressure gauge on there to see for 100% sure what its pressure is. I have had the electronic oil pressure senders fail all the time. So nice when you hook up real gauge and see correct pressure. (meaning no $$$$$$$$$)

Mine is crap on my Ranger.. Takes 15 minutes to show pressure when it's cold..

Well, the cost of a new sender..

oil light

could be just a bad sensor, my 01 needed a new oil sensor. Fill the oil up to the max mark, strange but my sensor light would come on when the level was below max for awhile, then it started working correctly sometime later. the overheating is most likely the coolant tank cracks unless your hyra fan is going out.
