Hi guys. I know there is a lot of threads about misfiring and i believe i read it all and i have some questions on my own so i figgured i would start a new thread.
I bought a lincoln ls this september. It is year 2000 v8 with 125000km
for 6000 canadian. 3 days ago i did 180km trip with it at that night it didnt had any problems. The following morning i started the car and went back inside the house to let it run for a while because it was -5C. Anyway to keep this as short as possible. I got into the car. And went on the highway. i noticed that after it got to operating temp the car was idling rough. But at that time it was only at idling. I went to the place i wanted shut down the car. When i restarted the CEL came on. So i took it to a shop that always reads the error codes for me. For them the computer said missfire cylinder 2. They suggested a tune up for me. Which would cost about 300$ cad. But i know that these guys install cheap parts into the car and i love my ls to death so i dont want it to have cheap parts cuz im planning to keep this car in my family.

The car seems to get worse and and worse as it is used more and more
but only if the rpm is below 3500.

So i took it to a AAMCO transmission they scan the car for free. They told me that its cylinder missfire 3. They told me that these cars are known for their bad gaskets. And they can find out if its the gasket for an hour labour which is 87$. Their computer gives out the estimate if they punch it in the guy did not told me but for a head cover gasket they wanna charge me 6 hours labour atleast thats what the computer said. which as i read is pretty unreasonable. With parts totaling 1018+tax.

So I took it to a 3rd mechanic who scanned it and it was cylinder missifre 2
again He told me that for 200$ +parts he would fix it for me and its most likely the coils. But this guy is weird cuz i asked him how much it would cost me and he was dont worry take care of u i take care of u.

Anyways do anyone in toronto know a good mechanic with reasonable prices for good work.

And if im at it what should i have checked out. I know i should get the spark plugs replaced. But with brand and which one. I would like to have the best ones in it performance wise.

I FORGOT TO MENTION THAT THE CAR ONLY HAS ROUGH IDLE WHEN ITS AT OPERATING TEMPERATURE AND RUNS FLAWLESLY COLD

BTW I WAS told that the car is driveable with misfire but i dont think it is from these mechanics. I dont want anything more ruined than it already is.

Anyways thank you very much in advance. And sorry for my grammar english is not my first language.
