i just used that kit for my AVIC f900bt (which is the same size as the AVIC D series) and it worked great, the only issue was that the F-series doesnt stick through very far, and it sat back into the dash too far, so i used a dremmel to trim off 4.75mm and it looks perfect. plus since it's a 1st gen, its the right color and you wont need to paint it.
