I have an 2002 Lincoln LS with the V8. I need to do a coolant flush because I think two differnt types of coolant were added and it turned brown. My question is on the flushing, I assume there's the drain on the radiator, but any other place?? Also I was wondering if anyone has tried using compressed air on one of the radiator hosed to force out remaining coolant in the head and heater core. It seems like it would work well.

Lots of drainage places on the motor. Pop out the freeze plugs. While I don't necessarily recommend you do that...

When you flush the coolant, you don't have to get 100% of the coolant out of the system. Whatever comes out of the radiator, motor, (if there is a drain plug on it), and heater core, you'll be fine.

Flushing with compressed air... It's been done. I've done it before to get all the old coolant out of a heater core. But unlike you, I had to get pretty much all of the coolant out of the system, as the new coolant was waterless.

I'm pretty sure the air flushing idea won't work as well on a motor than it does on say, a heater core.

You can also take the car to one of those shops that have a coolant flush machine. Surprisingly, those machines work really well.

If you go to say carquest or your local parts place, they sell "T" fittings that you place in the middle of a heater hose basically you cut one heater hose in half place the "T"in tne middle and hook a garden hose to the newly installed fitting. open the cap and turn on the hose, flush it till it comes clean, then take loose the lowest hose like the lower rad hose. get as much of the clean water out and begin filling with straight antifreeze, and then go 50/50 since there will be some water left in the motor and heater core. test it with a tester to make sure the mix is good enough for your climate. ive used machines and this method and find this to be far better. make sure you do it where dogs and other creatures like the neighbor kids dont drink it. this was the method we used to get all that dexcool out of a thousand pos chevys a few years back.
