Limp mode 04LS V6

My wife noticed the wrench icon on the dash cluster and the 04 V6 went into limp mode. My LS has the drive by wire TB. Has the V6's experienced any of the same COP problems as the V8's? Car has 68k miles.

any codes?, i dont see why a failing coil in a V6, couldn't have the same interference problems as the V8's do

Yes. Your first step should be to replace all six COPs and all six spark plugs. I helped a co-worker with a V6 LS with this very problem. The dealer wanted to replace the throttle body and gas pedal. An independent shop wanted to replace the catalytic converters. Replacing the COPs and plugs was much cheaper and there have been no more wrench lights so far. (The plugs and coils were changed a year or two ago.)
