Got a new one as my old was cracked and was wondering how the hell do i get this off without somehow damaging my paint? Is there any specific way?

yeah, super easy.... well maybe not super easy.
Actually, it's kinda a PITA... there are nuts that hold it on, you have to open up your trunk, pull the carpet from the backside of the trunk and you'll find a few nuts that hold it on. The carpet is the hard part; the push things they use to hold it on are a royal pain to get off without totally mangling them!
