LH VALVE COVER GASKET question

I have searched but I cant seem to find the answer for my question. This weekend i am doing the LH side valve cover. I have instructions for an 06, my car is an 02. Here is the question. On the 06 directions it says to remove the oil indicator tube. Do I need to remove the dipstick tube or will it rotate out of the way if I remove the oil level indicator nut? Plus should I buy a spare o-ring? Thanks alot.

Its easier to bend it out of the way / off to the side (carefully )after you get the bolt off... But it does not need to be completely removed.

as for the extra o-ring? for what... if you bought a kit with the spark plug tube rings you should be set.

I cut the dipstick mounting bracket and made the hole more of a slot and bent it out of the way. When you put it back on the nut will hold it.
