In one of my older threads I said was going to buy the LED bulbs from autozone. I went and did it today for my tail lamps and im completely satisfied it looks great. I recommend getting JamStrait SuperBright Red LED. I used the 3157R. If you put them in right out of the box you'll have a problem, it wont get brighter when you hit your brakes and your replace xxx bulb message will pop up. You have to do a simple mod to it which is pretty universal for any LED bulb.

This is a thread from another site on how to do this modification with pictures to show. Dont know if anyone cares but I think its an easy $15 upgrade that changes the look at night a lot.

People say this but I never had that problem.

My only problem is that my bumper light leds stay on but dim after the car is turned off.

Some do this some dont it depends on the wiring in the bulb. If you dont have the problem then thats great but if you do instead of returning or chalking up as a loss you can do that simple mod and it will work fine. Are your lights set to stay on after your car goes off??

With the timer yes but the leds on the bumper lens stay on and just dim.

I know that is cause of the LED. When and if I ever get my F'in car back Im gunna fix it with the load thingys.

I have a quick question maybe someone can answer. I have an 03 with factory HID's. If i wanted to put a different bulb in the high beams do i need h11's or 9005 or does it not matter? i think one is capped one isnt or is it the wattage that is different? I was going to get the pure blue for the highs and the JDM yellow for the fogs. And what does anyone reccommend for fogs....9145 or 9005 or will they not fit my car. http://www.luminicsbulbs.com/luminics_bulbs.php

ok ill ask this.....does anyone think putting a 9005,80 watt, 2500k yellow nokya bulb in my fogs are overkill? or would an h10, 55watt, 2500k yellow nokya do the trick? I'd like a bright yellow color for bad weather driving but not something so bright i blind other drivers and melt my fog housing.

and what about 9005, 100watt, 7000k bluish, white in my highbeams?? overkill? melting??

any opinions.....

Youll melt the wires or pop a fuse as soon as you turn them on. Besides that, 100W bulbs are illegal for road use in the U.S.
55W for lows, and 60W for highs IIRC are the only bulbs you can legally use.

ok what about 100watt for highs and 55 for fogs, or even 80 for highs, that still too much?? i dont care about legality of high beams i turn them off for other cars anyway those are for my own personal benefit only, i just want something that is really bright, casts a lot of light, and casts far too. the fogs are for me too, i want the yellows for bad weather. i never turn them on otherwise

glanga just replied to your other post on this, but i have always used 9005s in the fogs, had no problems. I use the luminics and they are fine. The Hoen bulbs those were 9145.

hey sorry.....i decided to take them out, they were 1.too bright for my taste, it looked like rear fogs. 2. too bright so they looked too much like dots.

i might order the ones off of ebay that have the leds pointin almost backwards to light the reflectors more...

sorry i didnt follow up, i didnt like them on my car so they're gone

I like that idea, but I think it would have been ok if you had the rest of the bulbs done to match Glanga.

Wouldn't reccomend the LED's like the ones I got. They wouldnt fit through the actual hole in the housing so I had to put in the socket and plug in the LED from the other side. I tried to put the other "bulb" in one of my tail lights to see how it looked, and it woudn't fit there either. And on top of that it wouldn't blink. I hooked it up straight to the battery with alligator clips and touched each positive lead and saw a deffinite difference in light output between the two leads, but when it was plugged into the socket it wouldnt blink. :(

yeah, i had to open the houing and rewire it to work with the brake lights

and elliot ness......what lights??? turn signals?
