I am picking up an 05 LS V6 tomorrow at 9 A.M., we did stop by the dealer today to check out the car before he left for the night. We asked if he had the code to the keypad and he said he didnt know it but said he could take it to the Lincoln dealer down the road and have them tell us, is there any other way to get the code?

It comes on a credit card size card with the original owner’s manual. If not that is correct, it has to be read from a Lincoln dealer. If you don’t have owner’s manual, down lode it (2004 will be the same) from TECH ARTICALS at the top of the page so you can learn how to set code to custom number of your choice once you have original code.

Make sure you get 2 programmed to your LS keys), that way you can add keys yourself (off eBay). Remotes for a 05 you can get on eBay and program them yourself, all in the owner’s manual.

Dealers charge to read key pad codes and programming keys and you need two keys to do this yourself. Deal with the non Lincoln dealer to pay for this now for this can be pricey.

Enjoy your new to you LS.

If its not in your manual sometimes it is written on the driver's side trunk swing arm and sometimes it is written on the side of your drivers side door when you open it. Lincoln will charge you $60.00 or so to get the code unless you know someone up there. Good luck.

Sorry King03LS8, the factory code for the Lincoln Ls is only on the original card that came with the original manual or in the computer that has to be read by an NGS tester.

This has been a well covered topic.

Sorry GC, but mine was written on the swing arm. Another member even agrees with me that it's sometimes MAYBE in the trunk. Try reading your own link next time. Thanks for playing.

WTF? Nobody is agreeing with you. You're taking those words out of context and thinking someone agrees with you. The poster was referring to OTHER Lincoln models, and only speculating about the LS (which turned out to be wrong). It is true that OTHER LINCOLN MODELS sometimes have the code on the swing arm in the trunk, but not the LS.

The OM has never indicated that the door keypad code for the LS is in the trunk. The OM does says that the code is "marked on the computer module", but nobody has ever been able to find the code printed anywhere on the car, and I've been following the LS closely since 1999. If your code is printed on the swing arm, I'd like to see pictures because this would be the first time anyone has ever found it code printed on the car.

Bottom line is this: If the codes was printed somewhere conspicuous on the car, I would know about it. Since I don't, it isn't, and you can take that to the bank.

It is possible that the code may be written on the trunk arm, but not because Lincoln put it there (f'rinstance, a previous owner or a dealer may have written it there). The only place Lincoln put it was on the card that came in the Owner's Manual kit.

There is a tag on the DDM that probably had the code on it, but, to date, everyone (including me) who's looked at the DDM in their car (and posted about it) has seen the remains of a tag that was apparently torn from the DDM while the car was still on the assembly line.

It doesn't hurt to look at the trunk arms, just don't be disappointed when you don't find the code there. The only reliable places to get the code are on the aforementioned card and at a FLM dealer (or a shop with an NGS tester).

OK troops, I'm not familiar with the LS model, but on TC the code is on the trunk swing arm, (right side), the computer in the drivers door and under the front bumper in the right corner. Bought one once that had all the code numbers deliberately painted over, but the seller did not know about the one in the drivers door:

When we headed over this morning to the dealership our man over there had the code ready for us so I don't have to find the code after-all.

Thanks for admitting ignorance at the outset. It saves a heck of a lot of time.

The TC is not the LS. Where the codes are in the TC is interesting, but completely irrelevant as far as the LS is concerned.

Sometimes it is very time consuming wading thru the flack on this form.

Look, jackass, you aren't a Lincoln expert, no one is so stop acting like one. I am not going to waste my time and take pictures for your sorry ass because I know mine is written on the trunk swing arm and that is where LINCOLN told me to look and what do you know....ITS THERE. I simply posted my experience to help out the fellow member. I'm not trying out to be become captain of the Lincoln Debate Team because I could care less what you have studied since 1999, that means nothing to me or these other memebers that have to sit here and read your garbage time and time again.

You're flat wrong about that. I am an expert on the LS. Get over it.

Given the history of the code issue since the LS came out, nobody is going to believe you until you show us. I certainly won't.

Yeah, yeah, whatever. Feel free to keep deluding yourself, I don't care. I have a long history with the LS and have forgotten more about this car than you'll ever know. I help out with accurate information, unlike a lot of folks here, you included.

Here is the reason I doubt your claims. No LS owner has ever found the code marked on the car anywhere, much less the trunk lid swing arm. Then all of a sudden big badass King03LS8 shows up and starts huffing and puffing that his code is on the swing arm. This challeges the observations of thousands of LS owners over 8 years, so you'll have to accept that people will be just a bit skeptical. After all, the odds are not in your favor.

If you're so sure about finding the code on a swing arm, post pictures of your swing arm showing the code.

Todd,

Feel free to come out to Texas and check it out yourself. I am not posting pictures, I don't have the time to jump through hoops for you nor do I care what you have to say about whether or not the code is there. You just drive an LS like everyone else here, you are no better than anyone else.

Not surprising he sees the code on his LS trunk lid swing arm and being quick to name calling, he also sees” half naked women on the top of the page” and “a huge fat black man on some of the ads on the top of my screen or a solicitation for a Paris Hilton sex tape” on this form.

they still come up sometimes...whether its adware, spyware or the site for not donating then it is what it is. Its on my work computer and not home.

Why are you so against posting pictures? You insist your car has the code on a swing arm. All I'm saying is show us and prove it. It takes less than 5 minutes to take a digital picture and post it here. Besides, posting a picture with the code shown on an LS swing arm prove me and a whole bunch of other people wrong. Wouldn't you like to do that? Come on, prove me wrong, I'm big enough to take it.

For the record......

I have owned a Lincoln 2001 LS, a 2003 LS and a 2006 LS. All were leased brand new and driven off the dealers lot.

NEITHER OF THE 2 LINCOLN LS's, WITH A KEY PAD, HAD THE FACTORY KEY CODE PRINTED, PASTED OF WRITTEN ANYWHERE ON THE TRUNK SWING ARM OR ANYWHERE ELSE ON THE VEHICLE OTHER THAN THE PLASTIC FACTORY KEY CODE CARD, INCLUDED IN THE OWNERS MANUAL CASE, IN THE GLOVE BOX.

I'm sorry I had to raise my voice, some people seem "hard of understanding the facts".

Do you guys know what it takes T_Man, to get upset about something. I can't believe that this has gotten this far out of hand!!!!!!!!!!!!

 Thanks Leo..... I've calmed down now. :D

I just had to stick up for our man, Todd.
By the way Todd, that's a great picture of your LS!
