Ok, so I just installed my LMS chip last week and its been working great. The next day, I put in a K&N Panel Filter and then drove down to Maryland for new years and I noticed the car was very unresponsive on the highway when I wanted to go WOT. It felt like I had no power when I got on it. But this only started to happen after I installed the K&N. But when I punch it from a low roll it gets up and moves like it should, and shifts real nice and pulls the way I like it to up til I let off around 60 or so. Could this be a dirty MAF? It is just weird that I dont have much power from a highway roll now.

How heavy did you oil the K&N? If it has too much oil it can effect the MAF? Did you doulble check the MAF plug in the wiring to make sure it is seated right? I assume you didn't spray the oil on the wrong side of the filter?:)

The filter comes pre oiled. If you oiled it on top of that you're gonna coat your MAF and have problems!

Good catch 98LSC32V, it has been 7 years since I bought my K&N. I have cleaned and re oiled it every year since, but I forgot the first time, they are already oiled in a plastic bag.

you should clean the MAF every 20 or 30 thousand if using a oiled filter. Also did you check to make sure you didn't bump any intake hoses loose?

I didnt oil the filter, it comes pre-oiled. I never tested the top end after the chip until a few days ago. But even down low it feels a little less powerful than before, although it still pulls nicely..

When I got my chip it felt the same way. It had actually made the car slower. You could feel it holding back. I'm not saying this is your problem but taking the chip out & then driving it should eliminate the possibility. I can't see the K&N panel filter causing that much of a issue unless it was soaked & diripping with oil.
