I'm just venting out...that's all....at least I know some of you know how I feel about the tranny in my LS.

When I first got it I was unaware of any tranny/motor issues. I also had the paperwork of a new crate engine and tranny with 60,000 on them.

The second day I had it the E came on and I didn't know what to think. I shut the car off and restarted it and it didn't act up until a few weeks later. That's when I started finding things on the web and found this site in the mean time too.

It had the typical slam in reverse and pause in first gear. I took it in to have the level checked and it was over filled. We took some fluid out and the tranny started acting like new again.

So I did a complete fluid change/filter and it was running great....until I noticed once in awhile it would shift hard to 2nd and hang in 4th. I learned to pull off the gas and put in neutral then in D5 and it would be fine for some time.

Now I have put on over 500 miles last weekend and yesterday it started something new.....I will be coming from a stop sign and it will throw me the E without any sign of it acting up.

I wish I knew now about the solenoid pack when I had the pan off.....oh well I guess. Looks like it's going to have to get done....may have to check the servo bore and springs while I take it apart this time.

Sorry for the rant....if you read it all thanks.

The symptom of a bad solenoid pack is delayed P-R or P-D or R-D or D-R. IMHO, your issue sounds like low/over fluid fill. Who changed the oil? I would have a dealer do a fluid flush. Incorrect fluid level causes weird things to happen.
