So i just bought a 98 touring edition TC, it drives great but vibrates a bit going at high speeds. Oh, and it has 361,000 miles on it. How long do they usually last?
Theyre pretty much all highway miles going between Santa Cruz, San Francisco, and San Jose. Anyone have any tips on maintaining a car with so much milage on it? It goes thru oil reeeeal quick should i use thicker oil?

High mileage and poorly maintained 4.6's burn oil... fact of life, sorry. My friend owned a Vic that went through police duty, cab duty, and then teenage driver duty.... it has 400,XXX miles on it or so, burns a quart every 500 miles but runs great, its just how the motor is.

For the vibration I would think either tires or drive shaft. Tires could be poorly balanced, worn, or have a broken cord or just lost a weight. The drive shafts seem to start to vibrate more and more as the U joints wear, so I would inspect them and see if they are binding/sloppy.

As far as maintinece I would just keep the oil topped off and see how long it lasts! If you put the money into fixing the issues you could make it go a long long time, I saw a cab with 700,000 on it...

one of the main reasons the 4.6 eats oil is bad valve stem seals
also you need to post pics

gotta detail it still
