today I rev'd up the v6 01 and the entire car was shaking and stopped when I stopped, I only did it cuz it was colder than f*** outside and I let it warm up and rev'd again and it does shake pretty hard when the RPM hits the 3 marker, any input on this? it sure doesnt feel right at all, car drives normal, also I recently got a CEL but the only thing that came up was my 02 sensors, so

1. I've searched but couldn't find the hard shaking when I rev up the engine.

2. I AM USING THE SEARCH FUNCTION for input on the 02 sensors but if you want to add anything then please do.

Help me out.

Have you changed your O2 sensors, since you had codes come up? If you did and still does it, it could be either bad injector or coil. Then again, you said the car drives normal once it warms up.
I know the leather can get pretty chilly in bad weather but not a good idea to rev up you car in the cold.

Did you do this in neutral or park?
There is a rev limiter at about 3500 RPM in neutral or park.
The gen I LS shakes when it hits the limiter, the gen II does not.

excuse me for this, but did it go...

vroom-pause-vroom-pause-vroom-pause

thats the rev limiter

I suppose it has been about 8 months since someone asked this question. Yes, rev limit. It is operating as designed.

It's pretty funny I did the SAME EXACT thing yesterday while in park & thought great something is wrong with my car, but it drove perfect... Well now I know nothing is wrong which is a RELIEF!:D

alright awesome info peoples! I really thought my car was :q:q:q:qed up, rev limiter sounds about right, and havn't fixed my 02 sensors, got to buy some first, anybody have any suggestions on where to buy from, all I have right now is ebay, if you prefer something else then let me know.

Also I need a new battery, point me in the right direction!

Hmmmmm

My 01 V6 never did that, but I never rev it when its cold out. It's a machine, you must let machines warm up to operating temperature in the cold. I start mine and let it idle (locked of course) and go back inside for 10 minutes.

the old "got by the rev limiter" trick, haven't seen that one in a while.

then you never rev'ed it up past 3k then, warm or cold the limiter is the same

I did let mine sit for a bit for about 10 mins before I rev'd it, it was a little warm but not warm enough for SD weather, so anybody got any after market batterys in their ls and where can I buy one, motorcraft is good but I may add some audio to my trunk sometime so I just want to be prepared.

You must find a way to vent any added batteries to the outside. Hydrogen in the trunk and interior of the car is a very bad thing. All batteries expel hydrogen in adverse circumstances.

Depending on how much audio you plan on adding you may need to upgrade your alternator as well. I have a diehard platinum group 65 in mine. 930cca. Some members have put in a yellow or red top

where does everyone buy there o2 sensors? ebay? I'm going with ebay if nobody tells me otherwise.

and can I find a yellow top at a local store? and how do I know which one will work for my ls, and I see the vent, as long as I buy the right battery I am sure I can get it going from there.

Unless you want to replace the vacuum hose for the vent, you will have to make sure the orientation is right. The hose is not very long so make sure the vent is on the side of the battery facing the rear bumper. Also make sure to bleed the system once you pull the hose before installing the new battery.
