Is it possible to replace the AC compressor pulley without removing the compressor itself?

In the workshop manual I have, it doesn't say anything about having to remove the compressor to change the pulley.

My bearings are bad. It's making an annoying sound. Not a hiss or grinding. Kinda hard to describe. I bought a new pulley and need to replace it.

How much do you think it would cost to have done at a dealer? I can't call since they're closed today.

I'm not sure. The dealers always replace the compressor and clutch as a single assembly.

The pulley swap usually isn't terrible, the nut comes off pretty easily and then you just use a pair of putty knives under the plate to pop it off the hub. Keep track of your spacers, then remove the snap ring and pry on each side of the pulley at the same time and they usually pop off without too much grief.

Truth in advertising, I have never done one on these cars so good luck.

I also think the dealer is going to want to sell you a new compressor and AC service.

Thanks Joe and Ranchero50 for the into. I'll be getting a pulley puller from Autozone. I don't think it will fit up in front of the compressor to get the pully off, so i might try the putty knives lol.
