So I got an iPod adapter cable for my '03 Lincoln LS. Has an indash 6disk changer. I've never done anything like this before so I looked up some threads and the tech article on how to slide out the radio. Doesn't seem to complicated. Although the threads I found were for '00 - '02 models, not '03 and up. Any additional info you guys could give me would be great. Going to start my project tomorrow morning.

So far it seems pretty straight forward:

1. Remove the top vents.

2. Unplug the wires for the status/fuel buttons.

Two top bolts will be exposed.

Then the part I'm a little confused about due to the design variations between the 02 and 03 models:

3. Remove the ashtray and the surrounding trim? Exposing two bottom bolts?

Any tips would be great. Thanks gentlemen.

You will have to pull the plastic off that extends around the shifter and ashtray. Simply pop it off starting at the tray.

Taking pictures and doing a small write up/explanation of each step would be extremely helpful to those looking to do the same (like myself).
