Hi everyone, my interior lights won't work. I tested the fuses but, they are all good. The dash lights and the trunk lights work. Am I missing something or is there another fusable link that I should check? Thanks, Max

Well, didja open the door?

Does the LS have a Lighting Module like those "old" Mark VIII's do?

Are there fuses in the engine compartment as well as in the cabin? Did you check them all?

Did you try opening other doors, to see if maybe the door you're using has a
bad switch?

What all have you checked?

Door open?
Remotely unlocking doors (do the puddle lamps turn on)?
Interior Light Switch (on dash)?
Can you separately turn on the overhead console spot lights / rear passenger lights?

Door open------- no lights
Remotely unlocking doors (do the puddle lamps turn on)?------ Nothing
Interior Light Switch (on dash)?-------- I tried but still no lights
Can you separately turn on the overhead console spot lights / rear passenger lights? --------- No I can't

If you have checked all the fuses then it's probably a fuseable link. Unless someone else knows where it is,
take it to the dealership and kiss your tax return bye bye.

Did you check fuse #5? I haven't verified this is the fuse with my car but looks right in the manual.

Thread revival!

Sorry for reviving an old thread, but didn't want to start a new thread.

I'm having pretty much the same issue as the OP. I tried to replace the fuse, but got a little spark as i tried to insert the new fuse, happened with 2 new fuses.

Never had any prior issues, only thing I did this weekend was fix my sun roof drain tube and later that night I noticed I had no interior lights.

I'm wondering if maybe there was something there (along the roof or visor) that could be causing a short? Only thing I can think of is the wiring for the lights in the visor(thanks JJcool). I'm going to check this out tomorrow, and make sure the wires arent crimped or something, but I just wanted to see if anyone could confirm...

unless you had something just happen to go wrong as the same time you fixed your moon roof, my first instinct would be a shorted out wire (like maybe one got pinched during the work)

at least that would be where i would start looking

Fuse F4.05 feeds the vanity mirror lights, the map lights, the rear reading lights, the glove box light, the foot lights, the antenna module for the radio, and the puddle lamps.
I'd guess that you did pinch or pierce a wire with one of the visor or other screws.

good luck, at least you know exactly what you took apart so you will know where to look.

The last time my sunroof drain was clogged water pooled in the plastic housing that houses map lights/sunroof controls. Could it be water shorting one of the map lights? In my case the water just poured out into my cup holders when I accelerated...

The resistance of water is too high to blow fuses (at 12V), unless it is salt water.

I am pretty sure its the visor wire as well. When we did the sunroof tube fix, I remember specifically having to be extra careful putting the screws back in when putting the visor back on as the wire kept trying to bend under the plastic piece... My fault for not thinking of it sooner Mlara!
