I have an 03 and have been having a hell of a time lately and I hate even when simple things are broken so I must fix them.

So I couldn't get out of my spot this morning (damn ice) so I decided to turn advancetrac off. I went to push down on the button and my finger went straight through and the button was missing haha... Anyone have this happen to them before? I just sat there dumbfounded. I popped the cover and noticed that two screws hold the button to the plastic part. Anyone know how much the plastic piece with the cupholder/advancetrac hole/e-brake hole is and what is the part number?

Also, when I push the ashtray in, it doesn't stay closed. I tried to look in there to see how it works but I couldn't really tell...Any info on this?

Thanks!

Yes, I've had that happen. I think it was about $100. Max has the part.

Mine did it. I crazy glued it, and it's been fine for 2 years. If you want to reinforce it, put a layer of 2 part epoxy over it. For strength I'll even put a little fiberglass insulation into the epoxy as I spread it. I also use the tip of an exacto knife to rough things up so the epoxy has some "tooth" to bite onto.

the buttons for the message center on moms car fell into the dash one day. pulled it apart. epoxied in some bolts, stuck it in the hole, tightened it down, good to go.

You guys must be pushing these buttons like they have serious resistance. I have yet to have an issue with this. Then again, I push the buttons gently.

The information center buttons just kind of suck. They don't age well and break easily. It may be the same on the TC button, but that one was my fault. I rested my elbow on it, and it gave way.

yes this is the same kind of problem like when the buttons under the center vents fall back, i used a bunch of 5 min epoxy for both and it worked great, just make sure you dont get any where you can see it or anywhere that will affect the movement of the button, also as far as the ashtray, there is a little piece of plastic that moves around and acts as the lock, it will just fall out and you will never see it again. at that point its time to find a junk yard.
