SO the sturdy plastic on y drivers door handle broke. Getting out was doable but not convenient. I needed to fix.

So I went on Amazon and ordered a new handle for about $25. It came quickly and I installed it with a little difficulty because of the rivets. Got it back together and the handle does not work properly. It should release the lock and open the door when pulled. However it does neither, just like a rear door handle. I must now push the unlock button to get out the front door. YES I did order a front door handle. So I told amazon I wanted my money back and will be getting that done.

Then went to rock auto and ordered a Dorman front left interior handle. It took longer to get here and when it did (Saturday) I found that it did not work in the same way as the other one. So I have to send it back too.

Question is has anyone bought one of these recently and gotten the correct part and can recommend a source? Thanks.

Honestly,

You might be better off giong to a boneyard and pulling the parts yourself. The bonus of that is you may find other parts you can use in the process.

Grizz thanks for the link. I'll have to call the dealer to find out what it is cause it's described as a 'control'. Looked on fordpartsgiant and the P/N resolves to 'control'. There is a drawing that vaguely resembles the item But i dont wanna buy another red herring.

04LS- that's not a bad idea. I've considered it. There are a few doo dads I could try to get at same time. There is a boneyard about 30 miles away that claims to have 3 LSes.

Bugs me that now I have the expense of sending two parts back.
