I've been reading alot of your forums over the last few days and I'm glad I found this site as it has been very helpfull. I bought a 2004 LS last Aug. and have experienced many of the same problems. I have a hum in the rear of the car that seems to get louder as the speed increases over 60 mph, by the time I've reached 80 or 90, the vibration is so noticable that the rear view mirror on the windshield is distorting my vision! I think it's a wheel bearing on the pass. side rear. The service manager said he thinks it's a driveshaft out of balance, somehow I can't see it. Same thing with the hard shifting as mentioned by many, can anyone give me details on the recall so I have something to give the dealer? Also on another note, does anyone know how to remove the plexiglass from the instrument cluster(remove the dash trim to get at it) when I bought the car, whoever detailed the car managed to get liquid on the inside of the glass and it looks like hell. I've taken these types of things apart before(had an 80 vette) but can't seem to figure this one out and I don't wanna break stuff. Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanx.

Welcome aboard!
Can't help you on the cluster , but I can warn you...
Beware of the Frogman when posting...LMAO
good luck!

I'd go with the dealer. a bearing going bad doesn't vibrate, it squeals. There have been a driveshaft or two that I've heard about being ut of balance. If it's the rear half of the shaft it will shake the rear. And yes, the LS uses a 2 piece driveshaft. There is a carrier bearing in the middle.
