I had been searching the internet trying to find more infomation to use as amunition againt FORD on the repairs of the oil leak onto the coil recall for 2003 LS's

Why chose this model year and not 2000 on up? Anyway, I found this information on this web site that list problems we are experiencing. Ford knew of the problems and did nothing about. I found a paragraph about the NHTSA ( http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/) investigates problems and can force a recall. They knew in 2001 Bulletin#102 that there was oil leaking from the cam covers! And #58 on the rear regulators!!!!!!

Take a look at the list of problems, you can look up your year and model car here. Anything to help!

Well, I filed my complaint. When they contact me I'm going to tell them about having to replace 2 window regulators that are hardly ever used on the passenger side. But mostly I really pissed about the coil on plug problem. $1400.00 for this BS!

I wish you well, but you have pretty much no chance of getting the NHTSA to force a recall on the oil leaks and COP failures. Recalls are not issued for defective designs, only for safety issues, and leaky gaskets and the failure mode of the bad COPs do not present safety issues. If failing COPs caused the cars to stall at highway speeds, you might have a case (as with the camshaft sensor recall just announced for the '97-'03 PowerStrokes), but that's not the failure mode here.

BTW, what you've found aren't recalls, just TSBs issued by Ford. The only recall on the LS was for the ball joints on the '00 models. There may have been one for the rear seat latches, but I don't know if that became a recall.

You are right. However I posted links to the site for the recall. Here are a couple of recalls in effect, I will post the others when I have the time.

Interesting; I hadn't heard about the recall on the '05 gas tanks (I vaguely remember the wheel recall, now that you mention it). I didn't see any on the LS for '02, '04, or '06--heck, Lincoln didn't have any recalls for MY '04.

Anyway, good luck on your quest...

I remember there was a few others I ran across. I probably am beeting a dead horse, but I truely don't think we should be paying for repairs that FORD knew about and did nothing about. Then after the cars stop production, put out a recall for just the 2003 year model. What about teh rest of us????? That sucks. Because this 2000 year car started out at $40,000.00 sale price and now resales for $6,000.00 or less, the only thing of value now is the repairs.
